Finnish Athletics is one of the oldest national athletics federations in the world, and one of the original founders of the International Association of Athletics Federations, the IAAF.

Finnish Athletics celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2006. Despite a population of just 5.3 million inhabitants, Finland belongs to the superpowers of athletics.
